Like the changing tempos of Latin rhythms, House Industries Latino! font collection is a sultry arrangement of lively types and unpredictable imagery. This suave yet spirited pair of fonts finds its inspiration in the bouncy Latin typefaces that graced many a Xavier Cugat album cover. The fonts also provide the perfect complement to the set’s 15 "ilustraciones.” So named for their wedge-shaped serifs, Latins became synonymous with the Afro-Cuban sounds in the American music scene during the 1960s. Perhaps it was their inherent spontaneity or their whimsical nature. Whatever the case may be, the revival of these types is due to the efforts of type designer Christian Schwartz. True to their history, they still retain the buoyancy and irresistible charm of their predecessors.
