Create a local fashion system not only aims for collaboration and joint actors established tourism area and cuisine, but also explicitly includes the community as a whole. This means take care of those who could become skilled for this industry work: artisans. Under that look DUOC developed UC Women’s Fashion Talent, an initiative in which textile artisans in the Region of Valparaíso could perfect their art of hand teachers and students of this university. Let’s review today this initiative, and the parade look book, Catwalk Fashion Yellow Space, which crowned his discharge.
Female talent round
Women’s Fashion Talent constitutes a meeting, professionalism and reflection, where converged productive capacities, creative talents, areas of culture and education, business and other regional institutions, which helped bring together 20 entrepreneurs (and stick fabric crochet loom, felt, embroidery, dyeing, printing, traditional leather work and fish, use of nontraditional materials) of different districts of the region of Valparaíso.
They together with teachers and students from UC Duoc Costume Design, develop proposals for integrating clothing textile craft techniques and contemporary design, recognizing fashion as the core of a system that provides added value to the development of the creative economy, tourism and regional positioning.
“Considering how complex it is done in Chile, particularly in regions, collaborative projects in the field of fashion, and your potential to make a social and cultural contribution is assumed, this time we varied expressions of talent, each from its own sphere of action, joined with enthusiasm, patience, vision and professionalism. Appreciate the confidence, management skills, planning and organization, creative vision and financial support we receive, “says Vivian Urmeneta, race director costume design of this institution, to conclude this process.
To me, this initiative is a concrete example of fashion sense from the local area, as was a learning that lasted several months and in which all gained knowledge and craft. For this reason I hope you can have continuity in time, you can track and reach expand to other regions.
Their parade looks book and realizes that the effort was worth it. I applaud him standing on the other side of the Pacific.
